REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL AND FINANCIAL PROPOSAL
PROCUREMENT OF WORKS/CONSTRUCTION
FOR: USAID TRANSFORM WASH (T-WASH) PROJECT
SECTOR: WATER
REFERENCE: T-WASH PROJECT AGREEMENT BETWEEN SNV AND PSI/USAID
PROCUREMENT ID: T-WASH/006/2024
SNV https://snv.org/ has signed a multi-year project agreement with Population Services International (PSI) to implement a transform water supply, sanitation, and hygiene (T-WASH) project in six regions namely Afar, Amhara, Oromia, SNNP, Somali, and Tigray. The project aims to reduce preventable deaths and illnesses due to diarrheal diseases in Ethiopia, particularly among children under five, through the increased use of improved WASH products and services. The project is supporting the One WASH National Program (OWNP) by addressing key barriers to the uptake and sustained use of WASH products through the development of an inclusive WASH market system or market-based approach.
Currently, SNV is in the process of upgrading/ rehabilitating Nine water facilities, Multi-village drinking water (three) and small-scale irrigation systems (three), community Irrigation ponds (two), and deep well Irrigation borehole (one) in the three targeted woredas of T-WASH project namely Hintalo, Kilete Awulaelo, and Raya Azebo.
Cognizant of this, SNV now invites eligible national drilling companies Grade four and above, based in Tigray-Mekelle, for full pump test including test report preparation, opening of the 8" casing sealed by a metal sheet, re-sealing the well after the completion of the pump test for a borehole which was drilled about 15 years ago. The well is located in Raya Azebo Woreda about 16 Km from Mehone town (UTM location is E-577121.88m, N-1409352.76m and Elevation-1615m above sea level) accessed by dry weather road. The pump test will be conducted at a constant rate of 16.71/sec for 24 hrs.
The pumping will be on the spot (on the ground level) to an irrigation canal (to be constructed), the depth of the well is 130 m, and the static water level is about 45m. The well test should include water level monitoring i.e. measuring the change in water level (drawdown) and the well recovery. While conducting the test the contractor should observe any effect on nearby wells or surface water bodies after pumping as well the pumped water should discharge at least 30m away from the well.
Interested and eligible drilling companies must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the service by submitting a detailed company profile, description/experience of similar assignments they have performed, and list of Professional and skilled workforces planned to be deployed specifically for performing the task with CV, construction equipment, and tools, evidence of previous accomplishments, etc. Contractors should consider all associated costs to accomplish the pumping test.
Interested drilling companies may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 9:00 am to 12:00 am-noon and 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm afternoon from Monday to Friday.
