Open Bid Announcement for the Purchase of Solar Water Pump Sets

1. Background
ADRA Ethiopia is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental international organization operating in Ethiopia since 1982. Over the years, ADRA has implemented a wide range of humanitarian and developmental programs, including Education, Food Security, WASH, Livelihoods, Renewable Energy, and Capacity Building for government and non-government eholders across various regions of Ethiopia, including Tigray Region.
Since May 2024, in partnership with ADRA Germany, ADRA Ethiopia has been implementing the Employment Prospects and WASH Project in Tigray, Ethiopia, aimed at: Enhancing sustainable employment opportunities through skills training.Improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services for IDPs and host communities.
In connection to this, ADRA Ethiopia seek to procure and install Solar Water Pump Sets to strengthen water supply systems in targeted Woredas located in Laelay Maichew, Tahtay Maichew, Rural Adwa and Tahtay Koraro.
2. Bid Invitation
ADRA Ethiopia invites qualified, eligible and experienced companies to submit sealed bids for the supply and installation of Solar Water Pump Sets as per the attached technical specifications.
*Note: the installation consists of replacing the existing hand pumps with solar-powered water pumps.
Interested bidders must submit the following documents:
1. Valid Business License (Renewed for 2017 E.C.)
2. VAT Registration Certificate
3. Bid Documents (Clearly labeled with company name, address, and legal stamp)
4. Bid Bond: A 2% CPO of the total bid amount (cash or asset pledges not accepted).
5. Performance Records: At least two references from previous clients for similar solar water pump supply & installation projects.
6. VAT-Inclusive Pricing: All bids must include VAT and comply with the provided specifications

5. Bid Opening
. Date: April 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM (Local Time)
Location: Tigray Area Office, Axum office (Bidders or legal representatives may attend).
6. Award & Contract Terms
• The winning bidder must:
• Submit a 10% performance guarantee (CPO) within 3 days of notification.
• Sign the contract within 3 days of award.
• Deliver materials as per specifications and agreed timeline.
• Transportation costs will be covered by ADRA Ethiopia.
7. General Conditions
• Our organization reserves the right to accept, reject, or modify bids without explanation.
• Partial bids may be considered if advantageous to the project.
